Iain Welsh
Graduated from Napier University in 1992 with a BSc in Quantity Surveying. For 5 years following graduation, employed by J Smart & Co Contractors PLC in Edinburgh. Invaluable contracting and property development experience was gained in various residential and industrial projects.
Following RICS chartership in June 1997, and a move to MJ Gleeson Group, he based himself in Inverness to manage the commercial aspects of the construction of the new PFI GBP 10 milion Inverness Airport Terminal. This was followed by further large project commercial management PFI experience at the GBP 13 million Graeme High School in Falkirk.
Following a 14 month period as Commercial Manager with PFP Ltd, a multi disciplinary fit out contractor, in 2000 Iain joined the QS practice Blair Anderson in Dubai. Based there for just over 4 years, as a regional director for the latter 2 years, he was involved in many major projects in the United Arab Emirates, Oman and Qatar.
On return to the UK in January 2005, he set up as a self employed quantity surveying practitioner under his own name and as the business grew restructured to form a limited company in September 2006, renaming as I Welsh Ltd.
In January 2010 he established Asset Venture Ltd, a building contracting and multi disciplinary consultancy with Peter MacIntyre. More information on Asset Venture can be found at www.assetventure.co.uk
